Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a federal grant program designed to assist undergraduate students who have demonstrated the greatest financial need. The FSEOG does not need to be repaid.
Each participating school receives a certain amount of FSEOG funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid. Once the full amount of the school’s FSEOG funds has been awarded to students, no more FSEOG awards can be made for that year. This system works differently from the Federal Pell Grant Program, which provides funds to every eligible student.
At the moment, FSEOG recipients can expect to receive $300 for the 22/23 & $240 for the 23/24 per academic year. The amount will be prorated if the student is enrolled for less than an academic year or is enrolled less than half time.
22/23 FSEOG funds are awarded as follows:
· $300 per academic year – Half-Time to Full-Time
· $150 per academic year – Less than Half-Time
23/24 FSEOG funds are awarded as follows:
· $240 per academic year – Half-Time to Full-Time
· $120 per academic year – less than Half-Time
