MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM
GRADUATED: JUNE 2016

After being laid off and working several retail jobs I realized that it was time for a change.  I needed to make more money and focus on a career that would stick around even if the economy wasn’t so good.  After doing a little research and speaking to my family, I decided to go back to school.

I visited many schools in search of one that felt right.  I chose Angeles College because when my admissions counselor greeted me I felt welcomed.  Kathy, Director of Financial Aid really helped me out.  She answered all of my questions and made sure I understood all the paperwork.  After I finished the campus tour I knew Angeles was the school for me.

I was nervous about going back to school after being out for so long but after speaking with my instructor I felt like I could do it and had nothing to lose.  Not every school can make you feel comfortable but Angeles College did.  My instructor, Ms. Lopez was very knowledgeable and you can tell from your first meeting with her that she’s passionate about her profession.

I learned so much in class, in the lab and from the students too.  Because I took the Medical Assistant Program I qualified for a scholarship and was also able to take the Phlebotomy Technician course on Saturday’s. Now that I have completed both programs, I feel more accomplished and financially stable.

I didn’t think I was ever going to be ready to go back to school but I can tell you from experience that it’s never too late to change your life course and Angeles College will keep you motivated.  From the instructors to the staff you will always be encouraged to continue.

I was hired right after my externship and now I am working as a Medical Assistant.

I love the patients and staff at my job and feel extremely grateful for the training I received at Angeles. I encourage anyone trying to make a better life for themselves and their family to stay focused on what you want.  It’s not too late.

My family is so proud of me, I’m proud of me…that’s what makes it all worth it.  I did it, you can too.

Thank you everyone at Angeles College!sandrasign

I was born in Tokyo, Japan and have always wanted to help people.  In 2003 I earned an Associated of Arts in English Literature located in Tokyo, Japan.  I knew I wanted to continue my education so I attended, Nurse School of Sumidaku Medical Association in Japan and in 2006, graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  But I still had more to go.  I completed additional studies at the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research – Cancer Institute Nozomi Nursing School, in Japan and graduated in 2008.

I never gave up on my dream. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is what I wanted so I went in search for the right school.  I contacted an Agency for help.  Through a Japanese agency, I saw a video interview of other Angeles College students and hoped this school would be a good fit for me.

When I first arrived, I was a little nervous but I soon saw how friendly everybody was and how helpful and patient the instructors and staff were to me.  Angeles made me feel comfortable.  The school is in a nice location and is very convenient if you do not have a car.  The class settings were small, which I loved because it made it easy to communicate.

My instructors were very knowledgeable and took time to answer all of our questions.  I built study groups with my classmates and found new friends that had the same dream as mine.  My instructors and classmate kept encouraging me to keep going.  The Director of Nursing taught us many things and kept us motivated.  I will never forget my experience at Angeles College or the people I met.

Angeles College helped me with my dream.  At times I wanted to give up.  I had to learn to give more time to studying and focus on what I wanted for my future. I had to remember to study hard and never give up.

I am now a graduate of Angeles College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.  You have to do your best always and your dreams will come true.azusasign

I was born in Seoul Korea, and since I was little I knew I wanted to work in a hospital.  I didn’t know how far I wanted to go in my education but luckily my family helped push me in the right direction.

In 2010 I attended, Choonhae College in Health Science and received my Nursing Diploma.  Soon after I completed I went back to school at The Credit Bank System (CBS) division of National Institute for Lifelong Education also in 2010.  This allowed me to think more about how far I wanted to go with my training.  I decided to look for a school and get my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

I remember searching for many schools and finally I was able to connect with the International Advisor at Angeles College.  The school is very affordable and for me the decision was easy.  So I went to the school and spoke with an advisor, Julia Chu.  She helped with all of my paperwork.  At first I thought that my english speaking would be a problem but the school made me feel more confident.  Because a lot of the students were in the same situation as me, it was easy to make friends and share information.

Time seemed to go by very fast in my program.  I made lots of friends and learned a lot.  The teachers gave us lots of information and helped us with studying skills so we would not forget what we learned.  The staff was always very friendly and I loved the location of the school.  My favorite thing about my experience at Angeles College was the Director of Nursing.  She is very knowledgeable and approachable.  You can ask her anything and she will take time to answer your questions.

There were times when I was tired and did not want to study, I have to admit.  But another thing I liked about the school was all of the support I got from my instructors and classmates.

I want everyone to know that, good results come when you do your best.  I now have my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a lot of doors have opened up for me.

Coming to Angeles College was a good decision for me and I am grateful for them and the opportunity to learn at their College.alicesign
